Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Regulations

Buying new equipment?  Well now you can recycle your old equipment with Lightpro Trade.

Why Recycle Your Equipment?

Unwanted electrical equipment is the fastest growing waste type in the UK.

Many electrical items though can be repaired or recycled. This saves natural resources thus helping the the environment. If you do not recycle, your electrical equipment will end up in one of the countries landfill sites where there is a possibility of hazardous substance leaking and contaminating soil and water. Harming wildlife and human health.

How Lightpro Trade Can Help You Recycle

We are pleased to offer all our customers the opportunity to recycle their old equipment (like for like) when purchasing a new item from us. Simply bring your electrical items to our business premises in person – Unit 10 Camberley Business Centre, Bracebridge, Camberley, GU15 3DP. To show you which electrical items can be recycled, all recyclable equipment is marked with a crossed out wheelie bin symbol (shown below). Please do not throw out any electrical items (including those marked with the crossed out wheelie bin symbol) in your waste bin.

What is WEEE?

The Waste Electrical or Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive requires countries to maximise separate collection and environmentally friendly processing of these items. In the UK, distributors (including retailers) must provide a system which allows all customers buying new electrical equipment the opportunity to recycle their old items free of charge. Those establishing their own take‐back scheme must as a minimum offer all customers buying new electrical equipment free take back of their old electricals on a like‐for‐like basis.
